The Texas Tenors appearance at The Mendel Center to follow the August premier of the group’s second PBS special

BENTON HARBOR, MI – The Texas Tenors bring their RISE Symphonic Tour to The Mendel Center in Benton Harbor, Michigan, when the Emmy Award-winning vocal group shares the stage with the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra on Friday, September 8, 2017, at 8 pm. This concert, which is the first-of-its-kind collaboration between The Mendel Center at Lake Michigan College and the SMSO, will open the 2017-2018 performing arts season for each organization.


The Texas Tenors’ appearance at The Mendel Center will follow the premier of their second PBS special, The Texas Tenors: RISE, on WNIT- South Bend, and on PBS channels throughout the country in August. The September 8 concert at The Mendel Center also coincides with the release that same day of RISE, The Texas Tenors’ first studio album in four years.


Since debuting their unique blend of country, classical, and pop music eight years ago on NBC’s America’s Got Talent, The Texas Tenors have accumulated a long list of awards, accolades, and excited fans. They have performed more than 1,000 concerts around the world, including a 24-city tour in the United Kingdom, Shanghai, China and collaborations with some of the most prestigious symphonies in the US. People are clearly enjoying their talent as they were recently named the #10 Classical Artist in the world according to Billboard magazine.


As they cover the musical spectrum from Bruno Mars to Puccini, Marcus Collins, John Hagen, and JC Fisher treat audiences to breathtaking vocals, humor, and a touch of cowboy charm to create an unforgettable live show.


The SMSO, led by Maestro Robin Fountain, will provide orchestral accompaniment for The Texas Tenors. According to Fountain, the SMSO hugely looks forward to providing a tapestry of symphonic colors over which these talented vocal artists can soar.
